1928 – 1950 Royal Mint. “British Museum Date Stamp” – Trial Die.


SG160 1881 4d. Grey-brown plate 17, GF. Watermark Crown. Red, octagonal French date stamp for 11 Jan. 1881.


SG2 1840 1d. Black Pl.2 (AA). MAY 14th. 1840. Local LONDON cover tied by a neat red MC… very scarce May date and the first stamp in the sheet!


SG24 1855 Jun. 18th 1d. Red-brown, plate 10, II. Used locally in London to Blackfriers. Jun 18th being the Earliest Recorded Date for plate 10.


SG294var 1911 5d. Deep plum and cobalt blue. A very fine date cut pair (mounted on corner stamp only).
