Your personal details and what do we do with them

Your privacy is of the utmost important to us. When you make a purchase from Andrew G Lajer Ltd, we may collect the following personal information: name and job title, contact information, including email address and your preferences and interests. This is so we may better understand your needs and provide you with the best service we can.

We take any order as a contract of consent that you allow us to hold your details for this specific reason, should there later be a return or another order to process.

If you give consent to us keeping your details for marketing purposes, such as stock updates, sending of seasonal catalogues/ emails or general updates, we will keep your data in our private Contact Management System and our emailing software system, which adheres to the new EU legal requirements for data storage.

You always have the choice to opt in or out of receiving mail or marketing. We have put processes in place where we will ask you explicitly if we can use your information for marketing purposes, but you can always contact us with your preferences. When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address, which is used by our site to help with analytics. We use Google Analytics for this practice.

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, inclusive of order placement, credit card processing and arrangement of delivery or return purchases, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

Disclosure

We may disclose your personal information and / or User Information if we are required to do so by the police or any other regulatory or Government authority investigating suspected illegal activities or if you violate our Terms of Service.

Online Transactions

Our online store uses an Opencart e-commerce platform, which allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Your data is stored in Opencart’s database, on a secure server behind a firewall and can only be accessed with a secure login by the Administrators of the site.

Payment

We use PayPal as our payment gateway to complete your purchases through our website. You will use your own PayPal account or a guest account via PayPal and it is they who process your credit card or account details for each transaction.

All direct payments with us, at shows or over the telephone are made via our credit card machine. Our processes adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

Third-Party Services

We use a third-party service with MailChimp to store and send our email marketing. The information can include first and last names, email address and postal address. MailChimp state they have, “implemented strong privacy protections that mean we’re handling subscribers’ data appropriately and in line with EU legal requirements”. As our customers, we would manage your data as you request, but you can also update your own data by contacting MailChimp directly or updating your preferences in any email you receive from us via the MailChimp platform, just scroll to the end of any marketing email.
